Montieth Illingworth

Montieth has a highly successful career in developing and executing communication strategies for achieving valuable outcomes. He has provided guidance to clients on a diverse range of situations such as global market expansions, product launches, rebranding, corporate contests, restructurings, bankruptcies, M&A, economic development, corporate governance, litigation, and regulatory investigations. He offers his counsel to various high-level executives, including CEOs, CFOs, CMOs, and Generals Counsel, and has authored numerous articles on communication. Additionally, he has spoken at industry conferences on managing complex issues and crisis management.

Before embarking on his communication career, Montieth worked as a journalist during his college years covering the civil war in Rhodesia. He later became a writer for national magazines and newspapers and authored a biography of Mike Tyson.

Montieth started his communications career with Development Counsellors International in New York in 1995 where he advised governments in the U.S. and around the world on investment attraction marketing and media relations.

Montieth has demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit throughout his career by establishing specialized practices and solutions for his clients. He founded the eBusiness practice at TSI Communications and established the Global Corporate Strategies Group at Ruder Finn, which focused on advising companies expanding globally. Prior to establishing his firm, Montieth & Company, he worked for Gavin Anderson & Co., a global consultancy, where he restructured the New York office and improved its capabilities in M&A, financial communications, and crisis management.
